How Do I Book?
BOOKING a SESSION
Booking your session appointment is easy!
We’ll start with an in-person consultation either at your home or a coffee shop to review potential dates, times and locations that work for you and your family. We’ll also talk about how you (and your family) should prepare for the session. We’ll also look at the keepsake items available for you to place in your home or to share with your family and friends. I’ll answer any questions you have at that time. Please feel free to reach out to me later via phone and/or email with any additional questions.
Session appointments are confirmed on my calendar upon payment of the agreed upon retainer, 50% of the session fee. This payment reserves your date on my calendar, and allows me to let other clients know that this date and time is not available. Retainers are non-refundable. Should a serious issue arise that causes our session to not work out as originally scheduled, you will have a 60 day window to reschedule, subject to availability. Once the date is booked, you’ll receive a calendar invite for the date and time to the e-mail address provided.
Session appointment balances (remaining payments) are due 48 hours in advance of our scheduled session. Payments are accepted via Square, PayPal, and in cash only.
When you book a portrait session, we will discuss a number of things to make sure that we get the images we want.
For family and maternity sessions, , I suggest that family members wear colors that are complementary. Pick one or two of your favorite colors, and then select coordinating or contrasting accessories. If you need ideas about clothes selections for your family members, I’ll be happy to discuss outfits as a part of our pre-planning for the session, and provide feedback on proposed outfits if you want to send pictures of actual outfits to me. Ladies are reminded that manicures and pedicures should be fresh, and that outfits are free from wrinkles, spots, and creases. I highly recommend fresh hair styles and trips to the barber for anyone so that hair lines are fresh. I also recommend professional makeup application for clients, and I can recommend a professional makeup artist for an additional fee. If our session includes small children, please plan our session for after nap time, and a meal, and bring snacks/toys.
For graduate sessions, I ask that the parent and/or graduate complete a questionnaire so that I can tailor the session to the graduate’s interests. We want the session to reflect the student’s interests, passions and personality. Ideally, the graduate would have already ordered his/her cap and gown, but he/she may choose to have up to two additional looks within the session fee. Clients are reminded to ensure that any hair styles, facial hair, and nails are neatly groomed into the preferred style, and that visible skin (hands, legs, feet, etc.) are well moisturized so as to not appear ashy. I recommend professional makeup application for these sessions, and I can recommend a professional makeup artist (for an additional fee), or you are welcome to schedule your own appointment with any professional makeup artist of your choice, with an emphasis on a matte look.
After the Session
The Big REVEAL!
At the end of our session, we’ll schedule a follow-up meeting 2-3 weeks after your session to review your images. Your keepsake images will be presented to you in a slideshow, where you will have a chance to review the images and order any heirloom prints and other memorable items for your family or friends. Most orders can be delivered directly to you
Any orders require payment in full prior to delivery.
Payment plans are available upon request for orders greater than $500. Payments are accepted via Square, PayPal, or in cash. Items cannot be released without payment in full. We appreciate your work with us.
